Atletico Madrid coach wants to re-sign midfielder Diego from Wolfsburg in January's transfer window, an agent close to the player's father has claimed.
Diego, 27, was a success for the club (Atletico) last season, scoring a fine goal in their Europa League final victory, but returned to the Bundesliga club in the summer.
Agent Jose Maria Martin, told Spanish TV show Punta Pelota the player could soon return to the Estadio Vicente Calderon.
He said, "Diego's father has received a call from Atleti. Wolfsburg are having a dreadful season and have fired [former coach Felix] Magath.
"At Christmas, or at the end of the season, Diego could sign for Atleti. His family like the idea."
