Barcelona showed interest in 26-year-old David Luiz by making €25 million bid for the Chelsea defender this Wednesday. This bid is made to solve their defensive problems after missing out on Marquinhos and thwarted in their attempts to sign Thiago Silva.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned Barcelona that David Luiz will not be sold and suggests the Liga champions look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.
Mourinho has insisted all summer that Luiz will not be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge and
asserted, "If [Barcelona] need a central defender my advice is that they have to go to the second name they have in the list because they are wasting their time,"
"The team with David Luiz and Mata is a better team. But we don't risk players in pre-season. "They are important players," he added.
