Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino has been punished with a match ban after being sent off at Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Martino was sent to the stands by referee David Fernandez Borbalan at half-time in a match against Real Sociedad after he reportedly called La Real assistant coach Txema Lumbreras a ‘pelotudo’ (Argentine slang for idiot).
Coach Martino after a 3-1 Barca's defeat at Real Sociedad on Saturday will not be allowed to sit on the bench this Sunday, for the game against Almeria.
Barca confirmed the news in a club statement that says “Gerardo Martino will not be allowed to sit on the bench, at the Camp Nou, this Sunday, for the game against Almeria as he has been suspended for one match by the Competition Committee'.
