Barcelona captain Carles puyol announced that he will be leaving Barca at the end of the season. The 35-year-old spain international has struggled with two knee injuries in recent years and has made just 12 appearances in all competitions. He admitted that his recent physical problems did have a key impact in his choice to quit.
His current deal with Barca runs until 2016 but Puyol has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the club to cut down the final two years of the contract.
He told reporters at a press conference that, "The club knows of my decision. It doesn't mean that I am leaving today, there are three months of the season left to play,"
