Andros Townsend will miss the World Cup due to an ankle injury

Andros Darryl Townsend  is an English footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and for the England national team.
He has been ruled out of the World Cup after Tottenham Hotspur announced he must undergo ankle surgery.
Townsend, who scored the vital goal against Montenegro that helped England qualify , requires an operation on the ligaments in his left ankle and will be out for around 10 weeks.
The news came as a major setback for the England manager Roy Hodgson after the 22-year-old Townsend's explosive introduction to international football during the World Cup qualifying campaign last year.
