Netherland set the mark in their very first match of FIFA world cup 2014 with a tremendous victory over defending champions Spain. The game seems to be in favour of Spain in the early minutes with Diego hitting some wild shots on target and managed to get a penalty for Spain after been pulled by Stefan De Vrij.

Xabi Alonso made no mistake in converting the penalty for Spain and gets them 1-0 lead over Netherland. The goal gave Netherland a charge booster and Dutch captain Van Persie has shown his quality by scoring the equalizer just before half time. The second half seems to be aggressive from Netherland with Robben scoring at 53rd minute of the game.

Stefan Vrij compensated the loss made by him by scoring third goal for Netherland .It’s not all from Netherland’s side with Van Persie scoring his second goal at 72th minute and put the scoreboard to 4-1.
Robin’s second goal at 80th minute . The final score 5-1 that was unexpected for everybody gave a quick revision of Netherland’s talent and desire of wining this World Cup.
