Diego Costa, Juan Mata & Fernando Torres left out of the Spain squad

Spain has recently announced their squad for Euro 2016 and coach Vicente del Bosque has overlooked three of the star players Diego Costa, Juan Mata & Fernando Torres.

Brazil-born Costa has scored one goal in 10 games since switching allegiance. He has not shown any impressive piece of skill in Chelsea either, as he netted 16 goals in 41 appearances this season and missed their final two games with a persistent hamstring injury.

"We didn't want to have too many players with doubts regarding their physical condition," said Del Bosque, who led Spain to the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 titles.

Mata, 28, featured in both of Spain's friendly matches in March, but misses out after a season where he scored nine goals and provided eight assists for his club.

Torres, who is in superb form and lead his club Athletico Madrid into Finals of Champions League, has scored seven goals in his past 11 games, leading to speculation he might be recalled for the first time since Spain's embarrassing exit at the group stage at 2014 World Cup.

Bayern Munich defender Javi Martinez and Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla are other notable omissions from spain Euro 2016 squad.
