Aston Villa has confirmed that Paul Lambert has been appointed as their new manager.
Villa have been on the search for a new boss after they dismissed former coach Alex McLeish following a disappointing 2011-12 season, as the club finished 16th and won just four times at home. It is reported Villa have paid around a fee of £1 million
A statement on Villa's website read: "The Board of Aston Villa are delighted to confirm that Paul Lambert has been appointed Villa manager."
